My name is Joy ad my mom died of a heart attack when I was 6 years old. Now I live with my grandparents in Far Rockaway, NY. This will be my 2nd year at camp. Camp is so special because you make friends that you’ve never seen before that understand and know what you’re going through. They can relate to you because they know how it feels to lose someone you love. My favorite moment at camp was when I got to meet my counselors and all the people in my bunk. I can’t wait to go back because camp is AWESOME.

That’s when we take a boat to an island in the middle of the lake and you jump off the island and swim back to camp. Everyone on shore was cheering and supporting us.
